Abstract

The article considers the psychological and pedagogical aspects of maintaining the psychological health of student youth. Emphasis is placed on stressful situations during the learning process, ways of relaxation. The concept of mental health is revealed The factors of psychological health in different periods of students’ study are revealed in detail. At the initial stage, the negative impact on the psychological health of students is due to emotional experiences due to the limited ability to adapt to new conditions and gain status in the team. At this time, the vast majority of students are in a state of chronic psychological fatigue, which contributes to a low level of motivation to study. These processes are overlaid by side factors, including domestic, personal, professional, social. However, a survey of students of Lutsk Pedagogical College showed that 85% of respondents are concerned about their health during this period. In the following years of study, this indicator is improving. On the other hand, irritation causes a large amount of study material, misunderstanding of certain subjects, poor grades, financial problems and even dissatisfaction with the chosen profession. The article offers specific measures to improve the mental health of students, including communication with other people, physical activity, learning new knowledge and activities, helping others and ultimately psychological introspection. Under the condition of the correct organization of rational work and rest of students the internal personal conflict between requirements to educational activity and adaptation of mental possibilities of the student is eliminated. Then his tension will be relieved, attention, memory, thinking will be activated; the level of anxiety and aggression will decrease; interest in learning will increase. An important area of activity of the educational institution should be the provision of the necessary sanitary and hygienic conditions, the internal environment (landscaping, control of artificial lighting, cleanliness of classrooms, food quality).
