Abstract

The study of the peculiarities of academic writing should be based on current problems of current research, especially in the context of the development of individual intelligence and academic integrity. The article outlines the role of academic writing as an effective tool for developing intercultural communicative competence of educational students, and identifies the main approaches to its implementation in educational processes. The authors clarify the concept of academic writing as a tool of intercultural communication; systematize the key components of intercultural communicative competence, which are formed through academic writing and aim to advance the educational model of integrated learning between Ukrainian and foreign countries mov through academic writing as a complete platform. The subject of our research was academic writing as a resource and as a tool for developing intercultural communicative competence of educational students. It has been established that the traditions of academic writing differ from the English scientific discourse, which is characterized by clear structure of the text, argumentation, and debatable positions. A model of integration of the course of academic writing with English has been proposed and the authors of the research propose to implement it on the basis of equal, communicative, text-centric and reflective principles, a step-by-step organization of the initial process, orientation towards practical activity, development of skills in interpreting foreign discourse, development of genre models and development of academic integrity will ensure increased quality of students’ written products. In the course of the investigation, the authors suggest that among the important skills that need to be developed in the process of the advanced discipline «Academic Writing» is the development of a strategy for interpreting someone else’s discourse, interpretation, correctness of quotation. The integration itself, prior to writing an academic letter, stands as an effective tool for preparing a competitive speaker, ready for full participation in the international scientific discourse.
