THE ROLE OF LANGUAGE NORMS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF COMMUNICATIVE SKILLS OF HIGHER EDUCATION STUDENTS

Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of the significance of language norms as a factor in the formation of communicative competence in higher education students in the modern educational environment. The purpose of the study is to clarify the role of language norms in the process of developing communicative skills of higher education students in the modern educational environment. In the course of the scientific research, general scientific methods of cognition were used: analysis, synthesis, generalization, systematization, observation, interpretation. The study analyzed the theoretical foundations of the concept of a language norm and its implementation in professional speech. The types of language norms that are most relevant for the academic environment were considered: lexical, grammatical and syntactic. It is proven that the combination of these components forms normative language constructions that ensure the logic, accuracy and clarity of speech. It is shown that language constructions perform the function of organizing the text and maintaining stylistic integrity, and their observance contributes to the development of speech confidence. The features of normative speech in the professional Ukrainian language are highlighted, in particular, the use of terminological vocabulary, syntactic correctness and stylistic expediency. A set of approaches to the formation of communicative competence is considered: communicative, competence-based, cultural, constructivist and activity-based. It is established that they interact in the educational process and ensure the comprehensive development of students' skills in professional communication. The practical implementation of language norms through educational tasks is described – oral answers, written works, discussions, academic texts. Attention is focused on the role of accuracy, logic, expressiveness, relevance and correctness of speech as components of effective communication. It is emphasized that the use of language norms in speech contributes to the development of rhetorical skills, a culture of communication and forms a responsible attitude towards language. The practical significance of the study lies in the possibility of using its findings to improve training courses aimed at developing the communicative competence of students.
