Individual style makes it possible to understand the originality of the writer in the linguistic and artistic picture of the world presented by him. The work of Polish and Ukrainian authors is original, unique, and interesting to analyze. We trace the specific features of the creation of poetic samples, which are characteristic of this country, in it. Writers use their own, unique means of language and expression, at the same time. They help to reproduce the necessary images, filling them with a literary sample of significant artistic and aesthetic value. The peculiarities of using of lexical and artistic means in the works of representatives of the same literary period in Poland and Ukraine are analyzed in the article. The works of Wisława Szymborska and Anatoly Fed are taken as a basis. The study of the lexical-semantic dimension of the linguistic picture of the world of representatives of different countries, in particular Poland and Ukraine, allows us to reveal not only theoretical issues of the linguistic picture of the world (essence, structure, national and individual peculiarities), but also to focus attention on issues of correlation with national mentality. Having conducted a comparative analysis of the works of representatives of the same literary period from different countries, Poland and Ukraine, Wisława Szymborska as a representative of Polish literature and Anatoly Fed as a representative of Ukrainian literature, we state that in the linguistic picture of the world of both artists, the dominant is the philosophical concept of the perception of life, the environment, and reality, which, first of all, determines the choice of linguistic means of their works during the verbalization of various concepts of the linguistic picture of the world.</p> O. The study aims to reveal the literary polemics between the two texts, uncovering new aspects of the novel’s interpretation and demonstrating Olena Zvychayna’s stance on the author’s suppression of the truth about his era. The methodological foundation of the research is an interpretative approach to the analysis of literary text, which allows for tracing how the novella “You” engages in dialogue with the novel “The City”, revealing various semantic levels through the protagonist’s inner monologue. Additionally, a receptive method is applied to examine how the reader (specifically, the heroine of Olena Zvychayna’s work) comprehends and responds to Pidmohylny’s text. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the first-ever detailed analysis of the literary conflict between the characters of the two works: Stepan Radchenko from “The City” and Vira Ilchenko from “You”. The research traces the differences in the characters’ worldviews, moral orientations, and life values. Special attention is given to the parallel between Stepan Radchenko and another character from “You”, Stepan Panchenko, whose similarity to Pidmohylny’s character is emphasized even at the level of their names, reinforcing the motif of betrayal and moral weakness. The conclusions explore how Olena Zvychayna’s critical reading of “The City” serves as a means to address the artist’s responsibility to society, moral nonconformism, and truth. The study reveals that Vira Ilchenko’s internal conflict embodies a rejection of compromises with one’s conscience, in contrast to Stepan Radchenko’s moral flexibility. The presented receptive interpretation shows that the artistic polemics between the two works serve as a tool for exposing the moral ambiguity of the era and revealing the illusory nature of Soviet reality, as reflected in “The City”.</p> V. The author emphasizes that language within the cognitive approach functions as a tool for representing and conceptualizing reality, and the poetic text is a special form of its verbal embodiment. In the context of modern linguistic analysis of poetry, special attention is paid to such concepts as concept, conceptual metaphor, figurative scheme, mental space and frame. A significant place in the analysis is occupied by the theory of conceptual metaphor (Laikoff, Johnson), which indicates the deep metaphoricity of human thinking. In poetic discourse, metaphor is considered as a mechanism for cognitive structuring reality, capable of transmitting the abstract through the concrete. The author gives examples of how metaphorical and symbolic modeling creates semantic depth of the text, enhances the cultural specificity of images, and facilitates interpretation using intuitive cognitive scenarios. Special emphasis is placed on mental spaces and conceptual blending as tools of poetic thinking that allow combining different-level concepts within a single figurative structure. In addition, the role of intertextuality, syntactic innovations such as enjambement, and other poetic devices (rhythm, alliteration, anaphora, paradox) is analyzed, which act not only as stylistic techniques, but also as cognitive mechanisms for activating attention, memory, and associative thinking. It is substantiated how poetic speech functions as a means of cultural memory, worldview coding, and aesthetic structuring of experience. The author summarizes that the poetic text appears as a complex cognitive-cultural construction, which not only reflects reality, but also creates its conceptual models in the mind of the addressee. Attention to poetic means in this approach allows us to identify new ways of thinking through language and new models of receptive interaction between the text and the reader.</p> O. М. It was found that it performs several key functions, in particular sociotypological, expressive and characterological. Such vocabulary not only gives the characters’ speech emotional inspiration and individuality, but also serves as a means of authentically reproducing the social, cultural and psychological context of the depicted era. In the course of studying slang vocabulary as a linguistic means of expressing emotional and social color in the novel “Zagrava” by Viktor Veretennikov, it was found that the use of non-literary vocabulary, in particular socially marked slang, is not only a stylistic device, but also an important component of the author’s individual speech, aimed at forming an authentic communicative atmosphere. The involvement of various layers of slang vocabulary in a literary text – youth, military, prison, professional – is not an accidental or decorative element, but a systematic linguistic and stylistic strategy of the author. It was found that slang in the work performs a number of functions: characterological (individualizes the speech of the characters, reflecting their age, social status, mentality, life experience), expressiveemotional (gives the text energy, tension, helps to convey anger, fear, contempt, sarcasm), identification (determines the character’s belonging to a certain social or subcultural environment), stylization (creates the effect of authenticity, naturalness of artistic speech) and aesthetic-semantic (deepens the content of conflicts, interpersonal relationships, worldview oppositions in the novel). Slang vocabulary in modern Ukrainian prose, in particular in Viktor Veretennikov’s novel “Zagrava”, is not a peripheral phenomenon, but an organic element of the stylistic, communicative and ideological structure of the text. Its systemic and functionally determined use requires further interdisciplinary understanding – at the intersection of linguistics, cultural studies, social psychology and literary studies.</p> A. V. A significant group of vocabulary that serves as a marker of the territorial affiliation of the characters consists of dialectisms. The large number of dialect words in the characters’ speech allows readers to associate them with certain social groups. It is also noted that the meaning of the majority of dialect words is clear from the context, although in some cases, the author uses footnotes for clarification (molfaryty, gazduvaty, zakatrupyty, etc.). Equally numerous is the lexical group of household words, colloquial terms that are placed in the mouths of the characters with various purposes: from characterizing a person to providing a specific situation with tragic features, for comparison, or for illustrating life situations. Given that the events in the work take place in the western part of Ukraine, the speech of the characters is saturated with religious vocabulary (names of biblical characters, states, and actions related to the spiritual life of believers: God, Mother of God, sin, prayer, etc.). The analysis of the factual material shows that a large group of artistic images is represented by those whose key word is the lexeme “eyes”. This is an important psychological detail that helps the author focus on the characters’ inner experiences, their feelings, as well as enhance the portrait characteristics of the characters. The article emphasizes that tropes play an important role not only for lyrical, poetic depiction but also for creating prose pictures of human relationships, reflecting life vicissitudes, and sometimes tragedies. They are important for creating the inner world of the characters and their portrait characteristics. The most active artistic means in the analyzed novel were comparisons, differing in structure and type. We identified comparative constructions formed traditionally with the help of conjunctions such as “like”, “as if”, as well as in a nonconjunctional manner; classical comparisons, negation-comparisons, and psychological parallelism-comparisons It is emphasized that metaphors, particularly personifications, metaphorical epithets, and paraphrases, also serve as an active means of creating the linguistic picture of the world. In general, the work notes that the artistic world of Maria Matios’ prose is rich in the presence of linguistic means of depiction.</p> L. YU. Shift from manual to automated information retrieval highlighted the necessity of intelligent search technologies capable of efficiently processing large volumes of unstructured textual data. This paper outlines both the theoretical and practical ground of linguistic indexation, namely term indexing, metonymic indexing and syntactic indexing. The study also views linguistic indexation within broader developments in computational linguistics, data mining and artificial intelligence, showing how these tools improve search outcomes by enabling semantic understanding and contextual awareness. A detailed analysis is presented on how indexing systems generate search images through keywords and descriptors, facilitating both clarity and reliability in content discovery. Despite notable advances in the digitalized world, the authors stress that existing intelligent search systems often fall short in working with the specialized or domain-specific content, where nuanced linguistic features may not be subjected to generic indexing mechanisms. Consequently, the article strives for ongoing innovation in algorithmic development, indexing strategies and software tools tailored to specific sectors. The article concludes that linguistic indexation serves as a foundational mechanism for structuring the information ecosystem, offering substantial improvements in speed, accuracy and user relevance of digital search environments. In light of the continual expansion of digital text, the authors underline the need for sustained interdisciplinary research to optimize linguistic processing tools and ensure they remain adaptive to the evolving demands of information retrieval and content analysis.</p> L. Based on an interdisciplinary approach, the key strategies of emotion management (cognitive reassessment, awareness, social interaction) and their reflection in verbal and non-verbal characteristics of speech are considered. Emotional intelligence (EI) is a key factor influencing both academic performance and psychological well-being of students. Positive psychological characteristics such as self-motivation, self-confidence, and resilience mediate the impact of emotional intelligence on academic performance and mental health. The study shows that the ability to adaptively regulate emotions correlates with communicative competence, linguistic flexibility and resistance to manipulative influences. It is established that the choice of emotional regulation strategies affects the lexical and grammatical features of speech, its pragmatic potential and the overall effectiveness of the communicative act. Particular attention is paid to the practical aspects of developing emotional regulation skills as a component of speech training for specialists in areas with a high communication load, in particular, teachers, psychologists and communication specialists. An integrative approach to the formation of emotional and linguistic competence as a factor of professional success is proposed. The theoretical contribution of this study is the systematization and integration of scientific approaches to understanding the relationship between emotional regulation and speech communication. The identified patterns of interaction between emotional-regulatory strategies and speech characteristics can serve as the basis for the development of educational programs and training methods for the development of communicative competence.</p> O. Today, in the 21st century, digital totalitarianism is a relevant phenomenon and an existential challenge of the modern era. The discourse of digital totalitarianism evokes an allusion to the numerological views of Pythagoreanism – the magical relationships of everything earthly with numbers, with God being represented by the number one. It is emphasized that the kaleidoscope of all social actions is reflected in the media and can act positively or negatively – this ambivalent approach is also applied in understanding the impact of digital technologies, whose perception can range from glorification and sacralization to demonization and infernalization, as many scholars’ express concerns about the potential threats associated with the abnormally rapid development of the discussed technology. In connection with this topic, it is impossible not to mention Chinese capitalism with a socialist face or socialism with Chinese characteristics and its great Chinese electronic firewall. The manifestation of digital totalitarianism, in our opinion, can also be seen in a certain monopolization of production. It can be noted that humanity has alarmist sentiments regarding AI – there are hypothetical notions that humanity is encountering a situation for the first time where something has appeared that will be much smarter than the smartest human. Currently, there are widespread dystopian fears about the possibility of digital totalitarianism and a whole spectrum of diverse attitudes towards high-tech, which brings to the forefront in public memory synonymous concepts such as technophobia and neo-Luddism, as well as computer and Internet addiction as forms of problematic influence of the Global Web. The spectrum and register of the impact of technologies on a specific individual depend not so much on the nature of the Internet itself, but on its users, who increasingly interact on a technological basis.</p> O. The author analyses the changes in the speech practices of young people that arise under the influence of digital technologies, social networks and modern socio-political processes. The lexical and stylistic characteristics of digital communication are examined, including the widespread use of neologisms, occasionalisms, slang, as well as multimodal means of expression – emojis, memes and gifs. Particular attention is paid to the phenomenon of informalisation of speech, which manifests itself in the blurring of traditional norms of spelling, punctuation, stylistic boundaries and etiquette rules of communication. The article focuses on the socio-cultural significance of youth linguistic innovations that serve as emotional expression, self-identification and digital identity construction. It is found that linguistic transformations in youth Internet discourse are not just a consequence of the technical features of digital platforms, but also a reflection of profound changes in the cultural and value orientations of society. The results obtained are of theoretical importance for understanding the current processes of language transformation and practical value for developing recommendations for teaching Ukrainian in the digital age. The lack of unified approaches to the translation of AI neologisms, especially in the context of increasing dependence on machine and automated translation, leads to terminological uncertainty and complicates professional communication. The article investigates the strategies and principles of translating English-language neologisms in the field of artificial intelligence into Ukrainian in order to form a coordinated national terminological system. Based on the material of the “Dictionary of Basic Terms in the Field of AI”, developed by the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, structural and semantic classification of neologisms is carried out, the main methods of their translation are determined, and the factors that influence the choice of translation strategies are outlined. The study is based on the analysis of terms of various thematic groups, from basic concepts and architecture of artificial intelligence to metaphorical nominations and complex multi-component constructions. Five structural and semantic groups of English-language AI neologisms are distinguished: basic concepts, highly specialized terms, metaphorical terms, multi-component neologisms and abbreviations. The dominance of tracing as the main translation strategy and significant use of transcoding, descriptive, metaphorical and hybrid translation is established. The factors influencing the choice of translation strategy are analysed. The principles of adapting Englishlanguage neologisms to the norms of the Ukrainian language are formed: systematicity, melodiousness, motivation, economy of linguistic means and transparency of semantics. The paper analyzes the distinct features of English maritime terminology focusing on the formation and use of terms to describe maritime concepts. It highlights the importance of mastering this specialized vocabulary for professionals in the maritime field emphasizing its role in clear communication, safety, and operational efficiency. Knowledge of maritime terminology is crucial for anyone working in the maritime industry. This includes professionals like seafarers, ship owners, port authorities, and anyone involved in shipping, navigation, and maritime safety. In turn, English is commonly used as a lingua franca for communication among diverse groups of people, especially in situations where participants may have different native languages. Much of the communication in English within maritime settings including ports, docks, fairways, straits and international sea routes is conducted by non-native English speakers. This is because English has become the global lingua franca of the sea, even though many participants in this communication are learning English as a second language. The navy plays a critical role in a nation’s power and prosperity, and the skills of its sailors are highly valued. A strong navy can project power, protect trade routes, and deter potential aggressors contributing to a country’s overall security and economic well-being. The professional qualities of sailors including their courage, honor, commitment, and accountability are essential for the navy’s success and are highly respected. Therefore, the etymology of the vocabulary of shipbuilding and navigation or maritime terms deserves special attention. The article describes the origin of maritime terms in the English language. The terminologies of the main European languages develop in close contact; therefore, the comparative study of terminological processes acquires special significance. This is why specific features of the corresponding lexical systems were identified, as well as correlations among the conceptual model of native English speakers within the framework of the studied area of knowledge. The authors analyze the transformation of speech in the digital environment, which includes a combination of verbal, visual and emotional means of communication. They emphasize the dualistic nature of the Internet language – between oral and written, local and global, national and multilingual – which forms new language practices, reflecting socio-cultural changes. Particular attention is paid to the impact of such elements as emojis, gifs, memes, slang, and neologisms on cognitive perception, thinking, and emotional empathy. The article considers the impact of digital communication on cognitive processes, including the development of clip thinking, the ability to process large amounts of information, emotional perception, and changes in the structure of thinking. It is emphasized that Internet communication shapes new social practices, promotes the emergence of virtual communities, and changes the ways of self-identification, especially among young people. It is noted that the language of the Internet is not only a communication tool, but also a factor in the formation of new cognitive models that combine logical, visual and associative thinking. The researchers emphasize the importance of an interdisciplinary approach to the study of digital communication, since linguistic analysis allows to reveal the structure and features of virtual communication as a new linguistic reality, and psycholinguistic analysis reveals the deep mechanisms of language influence on the mind of a modern user. As a result, it is emphasized that Internet communication is becoming one of the most dynamic factors of linguistic evolution, which requires new approaches to its study and pedagogical comprehension in the context of digitalization of education and culture.</p> А. It was established that the localization of English-language sales sites into Ukrainian is carried out using lexical and grammatical transformations. It was found that the use of machine translation is less close to the original and does not convey the original meaning embedded in the commercial text, which complicates the sale of goods or services. The examples demonstrate the difference between machine translation of text elements and literary translation using lexical and grammatical translation transformations. It is indicated that in the context of the localization of English-language sales sites into Ukrainian, the analyzed types of lexical and grammatical transformations can be used for: more natural sounding in the target language; giving the text dynamism; adapting to different stylistic registers; finding alternative ways of transmitting information in the desired context if there are no direct counterparts. It was determined that the use of transformations during the localization of sales sites contributes to: avoiding tautology, redundant text and concepts that have no analogues in the target language, as well as focusing on key concepts and messages; explaining specific terms, clarifying information, and increasing persuasiveness. It is proposed to combine several interface elements or parts of the text into one large logical block to facilitate the process of selecting goods and services by users, as well as to structure information on the sales site, modify long complex English sentences in the Ukrainian version so that they sound more natural. It is demonstrated that lexical and grammatical types of transformations can be used synchronously and asynchronously.</p> D. S. It substantiates the idea that a literary text serves not only as a source of authentic language material but also as a full-fledged bearer of cultural meanings, models of social behaviour, and concepts inherent in national mentality. Its integration into the educational process ensures deep immersion into the cultural and linguistic environment of the target language, promotes the development of intercultural competence, and broadens students’ worldview. The literary text is characterized as a complex polyphonic phenomenon functioning on several interconnected levels: aesthetic, semantic, and ideological-emotional. It is interpreted as a product of individual authorial creativity, simultaneously rooted in collective linguistic and cultural traditions, which makes it a particularly valuable tool for fostering the competences necessary for effective foreign language communication. Special attention is given to the concept of competence as an integrative personal characteristic encompassing a set of knowledge, skills, abilities, motivational and value orientations, and reflective capacity required for successful intercultural communication. The study highlights the underuse of the literary text’s potential within the current system of language education, where it often plays only a supplementary, illustrative role. The article argues for the need for the systematic and methodical integration of literary texts into the educational process. It emphasizes that, when accompanied by appropriate didactic support, the literary text becomes a powerful means of developing students’ communicative, cultural, and interpretive competence, fostering in them a deep understanding of foreign-language culture, critical thinking, and empathetic perception of the Other.</p> О. The research is based on the leading English-language media, in particular The New York Times, and aims to study how lexical means and stylistic devices create an image of Ukraine that is fighting not only for its territorial integrity but also for democratic values in the global dimension. Language in media discourse performs not only an informative but also an ideological function, as it is a tool for constructing meanings, a means of influencing public opinion, and a mechanism for shaping social and political interpretations of events. Particular attention is paid to the publication “Lessons from World War II to Avoid World War III” written by the foreign ministers of seven countries, which highlights a shared position on the events in Ukraine. The authors use a variety of stylistic techniques, including connotative vocabulary (Ukraine has managed to repel the attack and liberate more than half of the newly occupied territory; Ukraine will never accept the legitimization of Russia’s occupation and annexation of any part of Ukraine’s territory), metaphors (divided the 21st century into before and after), historical allusions (references to the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact and the destruction of Kyiv’s city center, the Holodomor, the deportation of Crimean Tatars), juxtaposition, quotes and maxims (Freedom must be armed better than tyranny), as well as official vocabulary (Ukrainian forces, Kyiv’s troops, Ukrainian soldiers, cease-fire, concessions, leverage, incursion). Taken together, these stylistic devices form the image of Ukraine as a courageous, morally resilient nation whose struggle is not only national but also symbolizes a broader fight for freedom, justice, and historical truth. In contrast, russia is linguistically portrayed as both a historical and contemporary aggressor, a destabilizing force (full-scale aggression, revanchism, impunity). This evaluative vocabulary constructs a clear ethical dichotomy between Ukraine and russia.</p> T. H. BONDAR, N. P. In the context of globalization and intensified international communication, the English language performs not only an informative but also an educational function by providing access to professional knowledge and discursive practices in the field of economics. The aim of the article is to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the linguistic means that realize the educational potential of English economic discourse. The analysis covers lexical-grammatical, stylistic, cognitive, and communicative features of economic texts across professional and mass-media genres. Special attention is paid to the role of specialized terminology, modal constructions, genre diversity, and stylistic devices that contribute to the formation of economic literacy, critical thinking, and the ability to engage in effective intercultural interaction. The study emphasizes that English economic discourse not only conveys professional information but also models a conceptual picture of economic reality, supports the acquisition of norms and values of the business environment, and contributes to the development of both linguistic and cognitive competence. The article analyzes examples from analytical texts that illustrate the functional load of linguistic means in the process of conveying complex economic information. It concludes that the study of linguistic features of English economic discourse is essential for modernizing economic education and preparing specialists capable of acting effectively in a globalized linguistic and professional space. The analysis of associative links of concept SECURITY representatives revealing a certain associative meaning, which allows us to consider linguistic units associated with this meaning as some entrances to the concept SECURITY. Such subconcepts as SAFE, PROTECT, DEFEND, FREEDOM, STRENGTH, WAR, TERROR are associated with the concept of SECURITY or they are in a synonymous relationships with the main concept SECURITY. The analysis of all the presented meanings allows us to identify the main components of the meaning of the concept SECURITY: 1) a subjective feeling, sensation, state: a) physical security; b) stability, order in different spheres (financial, social, political, etc.); c) confidence, trust, peace; 2) everything that provides this feeling, sensation: objects, people, their actions. These interpretations of the meaning of the concept SECURITY allow us to notice certain features of the linguistic representation of the concept SECURITY. Thus, the antonymic interpretation is widely used (unthreatened, riskless, not exposed to danger, not likely to change), which generally indicates a high potential ability of antonyms (representatives of the concepts WAR, THREAT, DANGER, etc.) to appeal to this basic concept SECURITY. Based on this, it seems possible to model a conditional situation in which the concept SECURITY is actualized: instability, uncertainty, fear of worsening the situation, risk, danger, threat, destruction, losses in some area of life, causing a desire for protection, defense, security, guarantees, order, safety.</p> N. The syncretic nature of the genre determines specifics of the communicative techniques that speakers choose to achieve maximum effectiveness of their speech.Besides, this form of information presentation reflects general social trends as to personalization of the message and emotional involvement of the audience. The research focuses on the comparative analysis of speeches on various topics, performed by six stand-up comedians (three men and three women) studied through the prism of their gender. The objective of study study is to identify the typical communicative models of the speakers, the general syntactic organization of their speeches in terms of establishing the specific weight of sentences that differ in their surface structure and communicative orientation, and also to highlight lingual means that contribute to increasing informativeness, expressiveness, and emotional impact on the audience. The work considers the frequency of use of simple and complex sentences. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of the gender specificity of the syntactic organization of speech, which allows us to trace how the speaker’s gender affects the choice of linguosyntactic communicative techniques and the general rhetorical structure of the speech. A special study was undertaken to clarify the concepts of manipulation and suggestion, which stand-up comedians resort to in their public speaking within the framework of TED Talks as an element of the cultural tradition of the United States. Thus, the study combines cultural-communicative, surface-syntactic, and gender approaches to analyzing the discourse of contemporary American stand-up. The results of the study will contribute to a better understanding of the role of speech mechanisms (especially syntactic variation of information encoding in a message) in the formation of effective gendermarked public speech.</p> I. It is noted that cultural transfer encourages us to see the multifaceted interaction of languages and cultures, it is an important component of intercultural dialogue, creates a new quality of interpenetration of cultures/ literatures, and also correlates with understanding literature as a dialogical process of text creation and text perception. It is substantiated that the dialogue of cultures and literatures forms new models of their unification (in particular, through cultural transfer), which take into account the diversity of artistic and aesthetic traditions, and at the same time reveals the potential for the development of national identity. It is analysed that, unlike literary translation, in cultural transfer, deviations from the original should be perceived not as an error, but as an adaptation to a new context, while the displacement of the functions or content of a new element can be perceived as the discovery of its new functional capabilities. The role of the mediator – the translator, who carries out the cultural transfer of ideas-meanings into another context of perception, is analyzed. It is the translator’s analysis of another’s cultural system, which is the most difficult to reproduce, that becomes an important condition for cultural transfer. Therefore, the role of translators in constructing culture is especially significant today, and studying literary translation is perhaps the most effective way to study intercultural interaction. It is proven that the value-semantic inexhaustibility of the correlations of “own” and “strange”, understanding the other and the incompleteness of perceiving oneself through the other actualize a special type of comparative research – intercultural/interliterary dialogue, which takes place through the prism of contextuality and intertextuality, which is fully manifested in translation and cultural transfer.</p> V.
